HOW I WORK: With over 25 years of clinical experience, I work holistically, honoring the interconnection of body, mind, emotion, and spirit. I hold a strengths-based orientation and integrate IFS (parts work) and mindfulness into my counseling approach. Drawing from an eclectic framework, I will support you to learn to honor yourself with greater compassion, hold curiosity for emotional triggers, explore cognitive and behavioral patterns, develop trust in your body’s wisdom, and learn to communicate more effectively. This is rooted in my desire to support you to befriend resilience as you discover your inner strengths, align with your own truths, and embody authentic presence.
MY TRAINING: I hold a Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Counseling from Prescott College. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in New Hampshire. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 2) and Reiki. I have completed hundreds of hours of post-grad training to stay current with best practices for evidence-based, trauma-informed, mental health treatment and tools for personal growth.
MY WORK HISTORY: I have provided therapy and support in a variety of settings. I spent 14 years at MAPS, working with a team of holistic counselors. In 2019, I opened my private practice, Begin Again Counseling Services. After graduate school, I spent 4 years doing therapy at a residential treatment program for adolescent girls in Oregon. Prior to that, I held several positions at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Arizona, and offered day treatment classes. I have taught graduate level counseling students, provided clinical supervision for therapists, and ran a support group for cancer patients for years. I have facilitated other groups and held retreats for personal empowerment, including a retreat in Costa Rica for bereaved parents who have lost a child. Long ago, I owned a CSA farm in CO with sheep, goats and chickens, and sold organic produce at farmers markets, and I was a preschool teacher to cute 3-5 year olds!
I have always been interested in dreams, the exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness for healing, and awakening beyond conditioned experience.
ABOUT ME--WHO I AM PERSONALLY: I am adventurous at heart and delight in travel and spontaneous explorations. I take refuge in quiet moments outdoors and find nature to be a profound healer. I honor the seasons and often mark life transitions through earth-based ceremony. I enjoy community gatherings, deep friendships and family. Creativity inspires me and I seek outlets for celebrations of music, arts and theater. I love to sing, and for me, dance is a joy of embodiment. Raising my 2 daughters has been one of my life's biggest joys and dedications. I am grateful to share love and fun with my partner (and 2 sweet cats!).
I look forward to the opportunity to explore how I can be of service to your healing. It would be an honor to support your life journey and deeper unfolding so that you can become the best version of yourself!
